One of the most anticipated weddings of the year took place in Venice, Italy on Saturday: Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney married internationally acclaimed barrister and human rights activist Amal Alamuddin! After Clooney and Alamuddin exchanged their vows, and platinum bands, Italy’s historic Aman Canal Grande Venice filled with cheers and applause. Among the celebrities who attended the dream-like wedding were Matt Damon, Bono, Bill Murray, Emily Blunt, and US Vogue editor Anna Wintour. British bride Alamuddin was stunning in every sense of the word, at the ceremony in her Oscar de la Renta lace wedding gown and afterwards in a lace long-sleeved Giambattista Valli dress. The Oscar winner groom was also sharp in his Giorgio Armani black tuxedo and designer grey suit.
Ceremony and the nuptials following took place at one of the most romantic spots in the world: at the historical canals of Venice, where crowds gathered to wave and cheer to the newlyweds passing by in luxury boats.
Clooney, 53, said marriage “feels pretty damn great,” while Alamuddin, 36, was radiant with a big smile on her face all weekend long. The couple showed off their wedding bands before the brunch following the wedding day. Ocean’s Eleven star opted for a classic wedding band, while beautiful bride was wearing an elegant band with one row of diamonds. Amal placed her eye-catching emerald cut diamond engagement ring to her right hand.
While the couple is enjoying their honeymoon, everybody is excited to know what will be next. Clooney’s words seem to be the best answer: “We’re looking forward to everything.”
