Neil Patrick Harris married David Burtka in Italy on Saturday, after 10 years together. Happy couple had an intimate ceremony with close friends and family, according to Harris’ representative. Harris and Burtka started dating 10 years ago and got engaged in 2006, but were waiting for marriage equality law to pass in NY. When that happened in 2011, Harris shared his happiness on his twitter account, and hinted to a near-future wedding.
Harper Grace and Gideon Scott, the couple’s 3.5 years old twin fraternal twins were also at the wedding, sharing this emotional day with their parents. 41 year old How I Met Your Mother star and 39 year old Burtka were wearing custom made Tom Ford tuxedos. Sir Elton John performed for the couple at the reception.
Neil Patrick Harris twitted to his fans: “Guess what? @DavidBurtka and I got married over the weekend. In Italy. Yup, we put the ‘n’ and ‘d’ in ‘husband,” along with a picture of the newlyweds at the sunset ceremony overlooking the Italian hills.
