Dancing with the Stars witnessed the birth of a beautiful love story: The one between star dancer Kym Johnson and Shark Tank judge Robert Herjavec. It all started a year ago, and on Sunday February 28, Johnson showed off her brilliant engagement ring on the red carpet for Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Oscars 2016 party. And brilliant it was: a 6.5ct emerald cut ring that is all sparkles!
Johnson calls the proposal ‘magical’. The 53 year old entrepreneur Herjavec decorated the ring box with rose petals and placed it on top of an inflatable swan floating on the pool. When Johnson pulled the swan and opened the box, the romantic businessman stopped her saying: “Actually that’s not for you. That’s for me.” Dancing with the Stars pro was apparently too love-crazed to answer his proposal for awhile that Herjavec had to ask her three times before she stopped singing and dancing and finally saying ‘Yes!’.
The couple celebrated the engagement in Herjavec’s Los Angeles home with friends and family. The handsome groom-to-be even flew Johnson’s mother in from Australia for the celebration. When asked about the wedding plans, they revealed that the wedding will be this year and they agreed on one detail for sure: Their first dance song will be At Last by Etta James, the song they couldn’t dance to at the show because they got eliminated. It only sounds right for the couple to continue their magical journey with a token from the time their love blossomed!
