GIRDLE:

A faceted gemstone or diamond can be divided into upper and lower sections. The upper section of the diamond or top is the crown. The lower section is the pavilion. The perimeter where the top and bottom meet is the girdle. The flat part on top is called a table, and the bottom point is the culet.
