Rhodium

A metal that is part of the platinum family, but not precious metal. Silver, gold, and even base metals are often rhodium plated to give them the shiny, mirror-like look of platinum. Rhodium plating makes silver jewelry less vulnerable to tarnishing and easier to care for.
