Depth is what separates these
A pattern cut shallow looks identical to a deep one in a product photograph and completely different after five years. Shallow cuts round over with wear until the design reads as vague texture; a properly cut one keeps its shadow lines because there is enough material removed for the edges to survive polishing. It is the single thing worth asking about on any carved band, and the reason we cut ours at the bench rather than pressing them.
The patterns in this collection
Parallel grooves and center cuts run around the band and are the most forgiving to wear. Drop bevel and step edge designs cut the shoulder away at an angle so the ring reads narrower on the finger than it measures. Wheat, Greek key, chain and wave patterns are continuous motifs that need width to complete a repeat, which is why most sit at 7mm and above. Hand engraved floral and honeycomb work is the finest of it, cut freehand, and the only category here where two rings are never quite identical.
Finish contrast
Most of these designs pair two finishes deliberately: a satin or sandblasted field against high polished edges, so the pattern is defined by the change in surface as much as by the cut. That contrast also ages well, because the satin areas absorb the scratches that a fully polished band would display. Choose the finish and the metal at the time of order in 10K, 14K or 18K gold or platinum, with free engraving inside.
