Accent Stones

Jewelry Definition

Accent Stones

Accent stones are smaller diamonds or gemstones placed around or alongside the center stone to enhance its appearance and add extra sparkle to the overall design.

These supporting stones can be placed in various locations including the shank, halo, or shoulders of the ring. Common accent stone settings include pave, channel, and prong settings. While individually small (typically 0.01 to 0.10 carats each), accent stones collectively add significant sparkle and can increase the total carat weight substantially.

The choice of accent stone size, shape, and placement should complement rather than compete with the center stone, creating a harmonious and balanced design.
