Ultrasonic Cleaning
Ultrasonic cleaning uses high-frequency sound waves in a liquid solution to create microscopic bubbles that remove dirt, oil, and debris from jewelry, even in hard-to-reach areas.
Professional jewelers use ultrasonic cleaners to thoroughly clean diamonds and durable gemstones set in gold, platinum, or silver. The vibrating bubbles created by the sound waves dislodge particles without damaging the metal or stones. Cleaning typically takes 3-10 minutes and makes diamonds sparkle like new.
However, ultrasonic cleaning is NOT safe for all jewelry. Avoid using it on: emeralds, opals, pearls, tanzanite, or any stones with fractures or treated stones. Also avoid vintage or antique jewelry where old glue or weakened settings might be damaged by the vibrations.
