Laser Engraving
Laser engraving uses a focused laser beam to etch designs, text, or patterns onto metal or gemstone surfaces with extreme precision and consistency.
This modern technique can create incredibly fine detail, including text as small as 0.2mm high, and is commonly used for inscriptions inside wedding bands, serial numbers, and certification information on diamonds. Laser engraving is permanent, precise, and doesn't require physical contact with the piece.
Many diamonds are laser inscribed with their certificate numbers on the girdle for identification and matching to their grading reports. Laser engraving is also popular for personalizing rings with names, dates, fingerprints, or custom designs.
